Directions for 2017 Grant Cycle

As you probably know, The Dana Brown Charitable Trust is actively engaged in a Strategic Planning process. We are committed to providing a more meaningful experience for the great nonprofit organization in the Saint Louis area. This is Dana Brown’s legacy. We intend to fulfill it through a more robust grant making process that focuses on greater collaborations and more efficient and focused grant making decisions.

We have spent much of 2016 fine-tuning our Strategic Plan and restructuring our internal procedures to make sure they are aligned with the Plan.

The Dana Brown Trust most recently awarded fall 2016 grants at our December 21, 2016 Meeting. If you are submitting a grant request for Spring 2017, the LOI needs to be received no later than February 15, 2017.

We recently concluded a broad revision of our website. This revised website provides much more detailed information about how we will award grants in the future. We are very excited about these changes and believe they will be helpful to your organization when dealing with the Trust. As you may recall from previous communications, in 2017 we moved to a Letter of Intent procedure.

We will also implement a process to review your successes and challenges associated with a grant award. This will give you an opportunity to share with us how you have had a positive impact on the welfare of animals or disadvantaged children in Saint Louis.

On behalf of the Trustees and Grantmaking Committee Members, we want to express our gratitude for all the hard work your organization has made. We want to help you succeed even more by providing financial assistance to achieve our shared goals.
