Ranken Technical College

245 Employees | Founded 1907

A private, not-for-profit, degree-granting institution of higher learning whose primary mission is to provide the comprehensive education and training necessary to prepare students for employment and advancement in a variety of technical fields.

Mission Statement

Ranken Technical College is committed to providing scholarships to economically-disadvantaged students so that they may attend Ranken, graduate and obtain an in-demand job. Federal financial assistance in the form of Pell Grants and student loans are available to students, but these do not cover all of the associated educational costs, nor are all students willing to take on the burden of student loans. In support of our recently established College Access Program, The Dana Brown Charitable Trust provided scholarships during the 2017-2018 academic year (to be awarded in summer 2017). These funds will help pay for tuition, room and board, books, tools and other educational expenses, allowing students to concentrate on their studies and take advantage of services offered by the Student Success Center and other campus programs, helping them to reach their goals.

Impact

Every year that the Dana Brown Charitable Trust awards scholarship funds to Ranken, 4-8 students from St. Louis who have exceptional financial need receive scholarships in the amount of $2500-$5000 each. These students go on to pursue any one of Ranken Technical Colleges bachelor’s degree programs, associate degree programs, or certificate programs. After the completion of these programs, many Ranken graduates have jobs in their fields within six months of graduation.
